Clark Freightways is a privately-owned family business that was originally founded in 1957 by Vancouver entrepreneur Jim Clark (who, incidentally, also conceived, built and opened the original Blarney Stone Cabaret on Carrall Sreet in Gastown).
Jim built his company by imbuing it with his personal reputation for integrity, loyalty and hard work. To this day many of our customer relationships reach back serval decades, and we believe that we owe that success to Jim’s founding values of Integrity, Accountability and Teamwork.
What started as a one-truck operation hauling produce between Vancouver and a few towns in the Cariboo and the Okanagan, eventually grew into one of BC’s largest regional freights carriers, providing service and creating employment in over 300 of our province’s communities.
Today, we provide freight services – both temperature-controlled, and general freight- to and from every major town center in BC. In addition, we partner with some of the best carriers in Canada to provide seamless service extra-provincially, both coming and going.
A lesser-known part of our family story is that we are Indigenous-owned, and registered with the Canadian Council of Aboriginal Business (“CCAB”).
Our history now spans three generations of family ownership. We are clearly in the trucking game for the long run.
